Cassis Red Hill feels tailor-made for a long, wine-filled weekend on the Mornington Peninsula. The villas look straight across neighbouring vineyards, with fireplaces, kitchenettes and breakfast hampers filled with local produce waiting inside. We especially love The Retreat or The Cottage for their heated private mineral plunge pools overlooking the vines; other villas swap the pool for an outdoor concrete bath. Complimentary bikes make cellar-door hopping tempting, although sitting by the fire with local cheese and a bottle of Mornington Peninsula wine is an equally valid itinerary.
