About
Le Pommier is refreshingly unpretentious for the Cape Winelands. Sitting on Helshoogte Pass between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, it began life as an apple orchard and today combines vineyards, mountain views, country-style accommodation and the sort of hearty food that works particularly well after a few wine tastings. Most rooms use the estate pools, but families should look at the two-bedroom self-catering unit with its own kitchen, braai area and
private swimming pool. We’d use Le Pommier as a relaxed base for exploring both wine towns – although lunch, another tasting and an afternoon by the pool is a perfectly respectable alternative plan.
Actual prices may vary and could be cheaper, depending on high or low season. There also migh be hot deals and daily discounts to save even more. To see the best price for
