About

Asterion has a wonderfully grown-up, understated feel that suits western Crete perfectly. Set right by the sea near Platanias, its earthy interiors and gardens feel far removed from the busier resorts around Chania. We particularly like the range of suites with private pools – including a Panorama Suite with its pool tucked away on the rooftop – while other rooms offer swim-up access. There’s a spa with sauna and steam room, two restaurants and plenty of Cretan flavours on the menu. Our plan here would involve Chania one evening, a day exploring the west coast… and considerably more time than planned doing absolutely nothing by the pool.
