This is easily one of our favourites in Crete. Minos Palace occupies its own peninsula outside Agios Nikolaos, so water seems to surround you almost everywhere you look. There’s a secluded sandy beach, a superb infinity pool and a strong new focus on wellbeing and longevity through its Nao programme. For us, however, the standout accommodation is the Waterfall Suite, where a generous private pool has its own waterfall feature. Sunset and Infinity Lagoon Suites offer more private-pool options too. With an outstanding guest rating, we highly recommend this one for couples who want scenery, privacy and a sophisticated adults-only atmosphere.
