WakaGangga is one of those Bali resorts we would choose when the main goal is simply to slow down. Set beside a dramatic black-sand beach in Tabanan, it feels wonderfully removed from the busier resort areas farther south. The private-pool villas are the highlight for us, particularly the one-bedroom villas with either garden or ocean views. Each has a private pool and terrace, surrounded by greenery that makes the outdoor area feel like your own little tropical retreat. Inside, the villas are spacious and full of character, with wood, traditional details and large bathrooms. There is also a beachfront restaurant, spa and main swimming pool, but we could happily spend most of the day at the villa. The sea here can have strong currents, so this is more a place for long beach walks and enjoying the scenery than a classic swimming beach. If privacy, peace and a more secluded side of Bali appeal to you, WakaGangga is an easy recommendation from us.
