SOPHID Wellness Suites Karpathos

The expression "hidden gem" often feels a bit worn out when talking about travel experiences, but here we have a place that most certainly lives up to it. We had the chance to stay a couple of days at the SOPHID Wellness Suites and it was beyond incredible. Located on a hillside, just above the popular Amoopi Beach, it features 20 stunning suites with private pools which would fit any 5-star resort in the world. All of them have breathtaking ocean views, spacious furnished terraces and extremely comfortable bedrooms. We loved every second here, and spent most of our days chilling by our own large swimming pool. Another highlight was the fantastic restaurant which served an amazing breakfast where they rolled out different trolleys straight to our table and let us choose from all the delicious homemade goodies. If you are planning a trip to Karpathos, this should be your number one pick hotel! Read more

Set right by Mikri Ammopi Beach, the villa has huge windows facing the sea, a kitchen, plenty of outdoor space and a private swimming pool just outside. Little Amoopi Beach is only a couple of minutes away on foot, with more beaches and restaurants dotted around the bay. We particularly like this one for families or couples who don’t need a spa, kids’ club and five restaurants – give us breakfast on the terrace, a dip in the pool and the beach around the corner and we’re quite happy. Orelia is one for travellers who’d happily swap a hotel lobby for a fridge full of Greek food and their own front door. These spacious villas sit in Ammopi on Karpathos, close to three lovely beaches, and each has a 125 m² outdoor area plus a 4 x 6 metre private pool reserved entirely for that villa. Inside you get a fully equipped kitchen, while massages, boat trips, diving and windsurfing can all be arranged when lying by the pool eventually starts feeling too productive. Whitewashed suites and villas cling to the hillside above the Aegean near Finiki, with huge terraces made for doing very little. And here the pool decision is refreshingly easy: the Infinity Suites, Aqua Suite and larger villas all come with private infinity pools. Interiors are bright and simple, leaving the rocky landscape and sea views to steal the show. Konstantinos Palace is a luxurious dream for the best imaginable family vacation in the southern part of the Greek archipelago. Set directly on a gorgeous private beach within a 10 minutes walk to Pigadia - the main town of Karpathos. We found this place to be one of the highlights of the summer. And the biggest reason for that is the amazing split level suite we had. It boasted a private plunge pool just outside the room which let us take a dip whenever we wanted! These modern rooms are ideal for families as the kids have their own room on the upper level, while the ground floor has a private entrance and another bedroom! And just a few steps away you reach the hotel's incredible facilities, including an infinity pool with striking views of the Aegean Sea. Highly recommended hotel! Read more
